Our Honest Take
Apple Notes is excellent if you're fully invested in the Apple ecosystem. The integration with iOS, macOS, and iCloud is seamless. Features like document scanning, Apple Pencil support, and Quick Notes on iOS are genuinely useful.
However, Apple Notes locks you into Apple devices. If you have a Windows work computer, an Android tablet, or collaborate with non-Apple users, you're out of luck. The iCloud.com web interface is limited and clunky.
MinimalistNotes works everywhere. Open any browser on any device - Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS - and you have full access. No Apple ID required, no ecosystem lock-in. Your notes are stored locally, giving you complete control.
If you use multiple device ecosystems or value platform freedom, MinimalistNotes is the clear choice. If you're Apple-only and want deep device integration, Apple Notes works well.
